It’s been so snot-freezingly frigid around here that when the subzero temps broke I thought I’d celebrate by wearing a 3/4 sleeve blazer. FOOLISH! Yes, 14 degrees is warmer, relatively speaking, but not warm enough for exposed wrists. Luckily I had this stunning scarf to keep my ever-sensitive neck warm and covered. Do you see blues? Purples? I swore that scarf was a mess of gorgeous blues, but when I pulled out some navy and cobalt items to assemble this outfit both shades looked completely wrong. This skirt and pair of shoes look blue to me most of the time, but more on the purple side of blue and they definitely bring out the purples in that printed scarf. I do realize that blues and purples are closely related and that there are blue-purples and purple-blues. But something about confusing my colors just plain irritates me. read more

Can you give me a little background on your schooling and career path?
I grew up in a a suburb of Los Angles in southern California. I attended UCLA where I received my undergraduate degree in mass communication with a mathematics minor. I then attended law school at Syracuse University College of Law in New York. I worked for a local nonprofit organization as a civil rights advocate and also had an estate planning practice. In both roles, I had to essentially grow a small business. read more
