Huh. This outfit did NOT feel quite as fancy as it photographed! I love the rich plummy-mulberry color of this dress, and took the opportunity to do a purply mix with my magenta cardigan and orchid pumps. You all know how I love my jewel tones.

I feel like nearly all of my online style consult clients end up with “magenta cardigan” on their shopping lists. And yet magenta cardigans are nearly impossible to find! Such a great piece to have in theory – since magenta works with jewel tones, pastels, brights, and neutrals – but most available cardigans are either too pink or too purple. I squealed with joy when I unearthed this one at a local thrift store. I’d rather it were a V-neck, of course, but I can make do. read more
