It’s true that short inseams are a fit challenge for tall women, but as the Ann Taylor graphic above notes, it’s not all about the legs. In many cases, tall women have longer torsos, longer arms, AND longer legs so the proportions of regular sizes just don’t work on their frames. And it’s great to see more and more brands dipping into the world of tall sizes.¬†Still frustrating to find that most of these options are online only – which is also the case for many plus size lines within certain brands – but at least the selection is broadening. Guest Post: Tall Girl Shopping and Resources

I was wondering if you could take the time to post a blog about how a tall college (aka broke) girl can go about finding dresses and skirts that cover up the you-know-what. I feel like I miss out on summer because all the cute summery (and every other season) dresses, skirts and shorts don’t give me enough coverage – my butt ain’t that big! I also don’t get to do the cute tunic trend because all the tunics are just regular shirts on me! I’ve tried Ann Taylor Loft for Tall skirts and dresses, but many of their options, while cute and do a much better job of covering up, don’t fit into my price range, and I don’t want my entire wardrobe to be from there! read more

Talbots.

My relationship with this store has been rocky, to say the least. I spent most of my life believing that Talbots was stocked with nautical-themed, slightly stodgy gear that would age me by several decades. And honestly? I think that in years past, that might actually have been the case. But recently, this vendor has done an amazing job of modernizing its offerings and injecting a few key trends into its stock, all the while remaining true to its classic, quality roots.

I have sung the praises of Talbots jeans for ages, as I find them to be comfortable, durable, and high-waisted enough to work on my figure.
